It strikes me that the Grok Approach could have a useful applications in theatrical text and character analysis, both for the director and the actor. Not only viewing each character through the "gain, regain, keep" lens, but to see individual moment-to-moment actions of a character through the same lens. Dare I say it could have a very useful application in actor training as well. Comments anyone?

I'm glad to see this potential appreciated. I do see substantial insights to be gained by both directors and actors through using the grok approach for text/character analysis. Plus, it provides another common language that they can use to discuss matters related to the analyses. And if the playwright, too, has employed the approach, the conversation can extend to him/her, as well.

This is part of the reason that I published the members-only news item titled "Calling All Actors and Directors" (available in the Library). I think a Lounge group dedicated to directors and actors could be really useful for promoting this discussion.
